The staff here are friendly, and the rooms have a modern style.

We drove over 650 kilometres and arrived at around 16:00 on Sunday 15th May. We could not find a parking space and had to carry our luggage up a long slope to reception - this is unacceptable.When we checked in we asked about the need to make a reservation in the restaurant for dinner. We were told it was not necessary, that we could go in at any time. At around 19:45 we asked a different receptionist where the restaurant was and were told that it was closed. We managed to get some racciones from the bar but, again, this is unacceptable for a hotel. I read later in the hotel literature that the restaurant was not open on Sundays but this was too late. If we'd have known before we would not have booked. When we came to check out the following day the bar bills had to be found and it took us 20 minutes to check out - again unacceptable. It seemed to us that the hotel worked well for locals but was not serious about travellers like ourselves who expect a hotel to proved dinner on everty day of the week.

Ibaia is a rebuilt hotel that is trying to build a reputation. The facility is very well done and the rooms are brand new. The beds are excellent as are the linens on the bed. It is about 15-20 minutes outside of Bilbao but it is an easy drive with little traffic. There isn't much else in the town or nearby. It has very nice grounds. It appears that they may be aiming at the business market, but we found them well priced for our 1 night stay.

The guestrooms at Komentu Maitea are super comfy and have all the amenities you need, like air conditioning and safes. We felt so cozy and relaxed during our stay. Just what we needed as a laid-back couple.

Personally, we found that having two flat-screen TVs in the suite was a bit excessive. But hey, some people might enjoy having options!

The countryside hotel was luxury. Overall the staff was great and positive. The location was super yet it was only a short distance to downtown area, just 5 minutes by foot. The restaurant was amazing and my meal was brilliant!

This venue is outstanding, luxurious, and boasts excellent staff, with beautiful rooms in a stunning building located in a marvelous setting near Herrerias.

The hotel is brand new with everything in pristine condition. Great bed, nice staff and open spaces/rooms in the hotel to find a spot read or relax.

The hotel was very well presented and in a gorgeous green valley area - about a 10-15 min drive from the centre of Bilbao and very picturesque. It's ideal if you want to stay somewhere a bit more relaxing than the city centre.

It was very quiet - not that this is a terrible thing! But when we stayed (on a Tues evening in March) we were the only people there so it was lacking in atmosphere.

The accommodation at Komentu Maitea is truly exceptional and luxurious. the setting is magnificent, right next to Bilbao. - the rooms are stunning, equipped with a private safe, climate control, and a mini-bar. - the views over the valley are breathtaking.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. It was very quiet although we were there at off peak time. Many of the staff speak little or no English so don't forget your cheat sheets!

We wanted an outside base for a short visit to Bilbao. We parked our rental car and used the local bus service which worked very well The facilities in the restored convent are artfully designed and luxurious. The local small town has some well built older buildings.

The restaurant was somewhat higher priced, but the food was good.

We had a great time at this luxury venue, the staff was always attentive and excellent.

Great building and design. Ideal for last night in Spain before catching ferry. Much better than being in Bilbao and only 30 mins from port. Would be superb for a wedding (chapel actually attached to the hotel)

Not much atmosphere in the hotel and no bars/restaurants nearby for a change of scene and some local life

Great hotel in a beautiful part of bask country only 30min from Bilbao. Rooms were a bit small compared to other similar hotels, but the rest of the hotel compensated for this. Exceptional design that one will appreciate even more when the weather is poor, rainy, windy, .. We booked this hotel to relax after visiting Bilbao, this was what exactly we were looking for !!
